I have wrist issues. I was a bowler for 26 years and my right wrist took a lot of abuse. When started P90X, there were a lot of pushups. I made lots of adjustments and would bridge my hands so I could complete the push up, but there was still pain. I tried a lot of other push up stands on the market (push up bars, Perfect pushup, etc), but all seemed to have one feature or another that did not work for me. I even used dumbbells and those worked pretty well, but weren’t the lightest or most convenient. Then Tony Horton designed some sturdy, stable and comfortable stands and that changed everything for me!
So I recommend Tony Horton Power Stands for push ups if you have wrist issues. But I use these stands for a whole lot more. I use them for burpees, as a yoga block, for my wrists when doing yoga’s up and down dog, and since they are so light I can even use them for some moving push up moves in Insanity.
What’s Great About Tony Horton Power Stands?
These heavy-duty stands help strengthen and sculpt while lessening the strain on your wrists or forearms. I use them with P90X, P90X2, Les Mills Pump, Body Beast and Insanity. They have a nonskid circular base which I find super stable so they won’t roll on you. They are also angled to eliminate wrist strain, which is huge for me. Also, they don’t rotate like others on the market, which causes pain and instability to my wrists. I also like the the depth you can get when doing a pushup!
