Commit to a Routine for Exercise Results
People need to commit to a routine for exercise results. Have you ever found yourself all pumped up to dig into a new exercise or nutrition program? Isn’t that a rush? You get excited at all the possibilities once you reach your goal. You think of how life will be better once you accomplish it. So, you tell yourself, “I’m all in!” and you get all of the necessary things together to set yourself up for success. So, what stops you from reaching the goal?
I don’t know if this is you or not, but time and time again I see people start things on their journey to big dreams and then something happens along the way. Was the goal too unreachable? I doubt that.
Commit to a Routine for Exercise Results: My Story
I’m going to use myself for example. If you have read my story you know that I bought Power 90 and was all fired up to get fit. When the program cam e and I read the material, I found out that it was more work than what I really wanted to do. I “sort of” followed the program and tried to make it my own. I skipped certain exercises that were uncomfortable to me or that I didn’t really want to do (power yoga) so I did maybe 3 days a week, then 2, then I decided the program didn’t work. I put the program in a drawer for a year. I got fatter.
I actually know people who get their program in the mail and never open the box. They just put it some place and let it stare at them. Others get part way through a program and then end up quitting.
One example is P90X. I have seen this with some of the people I have coached through a fitness program like P90X. They get fired up. Order the program. Start cleaning out a room or space for a “home to do their workouts. Head to the store to buy new gym shoes and workout clothes. Get all of the equipment and supplements ready to go. Some even clear out the junk food that may be tempting. A few people join one of our private support groups for accountability. They get part way through and then quit.
Commit to a Routine for Exercise Results: What does it take?
So, I ask. Why doesn’t everyone succeed and finish the program? Why isn’t everyone several pounds lighter, happier, more energetic and boosting with confidence? The answer is simple. They didn’t commit. That’s it. Commit to a routine for exercise!
Commit means to do what you set out to do. To see the project, task, fitness program to completion. It means doing whatever it takes. Until you commit you will never know what the results will be like. The people who commit are the ones who succeed. Even if somebody needs to modify until they get to where they want to be! Until you commit and see te program through you will never know what you are capable of. You’ll never know what variables came into play and need to be modified when you strive for the next goal. You’ll never know that empowering feeling of accomplishment!
Don’t mess with it. Commit to a routine for exercise. Follow the plan as designed and go get it. You will succeed.
