It’s the small choices that compound into big success or failure. When it comes to your exercise and eating habits become very aware of the different choices you are and could be making. Which ones are working for you and which are working against you? Are you doing the things daily that move you closer to your goals? What I have found over the years is that it’s the seemingly unnoticeable actions and small choices we do each day that add up over time. This can work out in your favor and move you close to your foals. Especially when it comes to health and fitness. It can also go against you and move you further away for reaching your goals and even lead to unhealthy habits, need for medical care and illness. Small choices do matter.

It’s never too late to start making small choices. Small changes. Simple changes.
Here’s an activity to do for yourself. I adapted this from an activity from Igniting the Compound Effect. It’s a 12 week program that uses the book, The Compound Effect. This book is one of those “must read” books!
Specifically list the choices you will stop making and the choices you will start making to move yourself closer to your health and fitness goals.
Here are 2 examples. Which one has the small choices and is working toward reaching his health and fitness goals?
Rick:
- Push play each day with P90X
- Read 10 pages of good book a day?
- Reduce daily calorie intake by 125 calories
- Replace one meal with Shakeology
- Chose to eat lean protein, whole grails, good fats, fruits and vegetables?
- Drink 96 ounces of water a day?
- Make lunches and snacks at home to take to work
Larry:
- Each snacks and junk food through the day at work
- Miss or skip P90X workouts each week
- Skip breakfast
- Drink diet soda instead of water
- Mindlessly eat dinner while watching TV?
- Watch 3 hours of TV each night
- Have “just a few beers” each night
- Buy lunch at a fast food restaurant
- Hit the vending machine a few times each day
