We fell in love with these blueberry fennel turkey burgers at a deli we went to. So we came home and tried to recreate them. I think we can close!
Now, from time to time I alter the recipe, see those tips below.
Blueberry Fennel Turkey Burgers Recipe
- 1 pound ground turkey (lean)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 Tbsp fennel seed
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
Options:
Add in half a diced apple (jonagold, fugi, gala, etc…).
Add half a small diced sweet onion.
Directions:
Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Mix ingredients together. Makes five to eight patties.
Cook the patties for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness. The internal temperature should be at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
