I have been doing Body Beast for 50 days now. Currently, I am smack dab in the middle of phase 2, the bulk phase and one of my favorite areas to work out are the biceps and triceps. Here’s my Body Beast Bulk Arms Review.
In Bulk Arms you focus your training using various sets: progressive sets, force sets, and super sets. Of course you focus on the biceps for one set of exercises and then triceps for the next set. Opposing muscle groups to get huge arms!
Body Beast Bulk Arms Review
Progressive Sets: A pyramid that goes from high reps to low reps, takes a break, then back up to high reps. Example: 15 reps, 12 reps, 8 reps – 90 second rest – 8 reps, 12 reps, 15 reps.
Force Sets: 5 sets of 5 reps, with 10 seconds of rest between each set
Super Sets: Any 2 exercise movements done back-to-back without rest
So, what’s been my experience with this workout? Well, just like the P90X workout routines (Shoulders & Arms and Back and Bis) that focus on bis and tris, I am totally spent when done. When you are constantly scaling up the weights and varying the time under tension, one can’t help but feel the muscle fatigue.
The routine consists:
- progressive set of standing curls
- single set tricep extension
- force set using a wide EZ Bar curl 5 sets x 5 reps where you continuously hold the biceps under tension between sets
- single set skull crusher (tricep move) using EZ Bar
- progressive set of concentrated hammer curls
- progressive set of tricep kickbacks
- single set weighted crunch (ab exercise)
I did expect there would be moves that having you lifting super heavy with low reps or doing a variety of moves such as partial curls, wide arm curls, supination, etc. Still, this workout delivers!
I have done this routine four times to date and each week I try to push myself to increase the weights each week. Pushing the EZ bar bicep curls, hammer curls and tricep kickbacks are the most exhausting for me in this workout.
If the goal is to build BIG ARMS, there’s no doubt that this Body Beast Bulk Arms workout will contribute to huge gains once this 90 -day program is done.
