It’s usually pretty easy to know when you are having an workout plateau. Your workouts start feeling very easy or you stop seeing results. You might stop gaining muscle, definition, speed, coordination, or balance.
What You Can Do To Prevent or Reverse a Workout Plateau
Cross training workout programs like P90X and P90X2 are designed to never let your body plateau. Each program uses something called “muscle confusion.” This allows muscles to continually adapt by integrating variety into the exercises and routines. It also help a person stay motivated and engaged with their fitness!
Increase the length or speed of cardio workouts or change the way you do interval training using programs like Insanity or Insanity: The Asylum.
Increase the amount of weight you are using with a program like Body Beast. Or change the amount of reps, by doing “the rep effect” from Les Mills Pump.
By mixing things up every 60 to 90 days with a wide variety of workouts, you will certainly break through any workout plateau you may encounter on the way to getting your results!
