How to Stop from Binge Eating – Don’t Let It Get Out of Control
Ever wonder how to stop from binge eating? I bet you can relate to this one. You know, you’re going on a vacation that requires swimwear and you want to look REALLY GOOD. A few months prior you start full force on a workout regimen like Insanity or P90X, count calories, swear off fattening foods and alcohol. You kept focused on a goal and has a big reason why you wanted to get in shape! That is how to stop from binge eating. But is is sustainable?
How to Stop from Binge Eating – A Scenario
You probably have your own story, but for the sake of this article I will use the vacation scenario. So… you head out on vacation. Head out pool side or stroll along the beach, confident enough in the body we have quickly sculpted. Yes! Oh, look, umbrella drinks! Um, no thanks, I’m still going to keep this hot body looking hot! That may last a few days, but then some sort of little taster or special dessert or sip of a Chunk Money foo foo drink crosses our lips and … YOU KNOW! One taste leads to two, which leads to a full serving or two or three. Buy the end of the vacation we caved. Not a full out gorge-fest, but pretty darn close.
The ride home has clothes fitting tighter and the conscience feeling guiltier. All we can do is make a “promise” to get back on the wagon when we get home. And we know we shouldn’t, but we are eager for more mental abuse and we decide to step on the scale to see the stats of our indulgences! WHAT?!!!
I’ve been there and I know many of my friends have as well! How to stop from binge eating is a good question to ask yourself and put some action steps into place.
How to Stop from Binge Eating – Get Back on Track
I’d like to throw out some things I have done in the past on how to stop from binge eating:
- Keep the scale hidden for at least 2 weeks after getting back from vacation. That will have the body get more stabilized from all those “I’m on Vacation” justifications.
- Do a cleanse of some sort to detoxify the system and shed a few pounds. The easiest I have done isn’t really a cleanse, but it works very well and it’s done with Shakeology. See the plan here.
- Complete a 21-Day Ultimate Reset to completely cleanse and detoxify your body and literally restore it back to “factory settings.” This a great way hot to stop from binge eating.
- Start your workout regimen right away and stick to the eating plan. Do it in 30 day chunks and soon you will have lifelong habits.
- Make it a process. Transition yourself back to healthy, portion controlled eating by having only healthy foods for 4 or 5 meals and then having a small crunchy/salty/sweet snack once every other day.
- Don’t deprive yourself something you are truly craving, but allow yourself only a small portion. Use baggies to ration any chips of cookie if you have it in the house. If you followed my Kitchen Makeover plan, then you only have healthy options… so eat up on the good stuff!
- When you reach the point where your eating is stable you can move on to the next step…
- Sign up for our 3-Week Transitional Plan to Healthy Eating. This is another seemless process on how to stop from binge eating.
