My suggestion to you today is to think about everyday activities that you can incorporate that will add calorie burn to your day.
So, for example, when I go shopping, I park as far away as I can. I know you’re in a rush sometimes. You don’t feel like doing it. But if you do your grocery shopping, say, on Sunday, make it a point of parking far away. You will get that walk to and back from the store.
Another tip is that if you work on a computer, like so many of us do, make sure you set a timer. A lot of people’s phones have timers now. Set a timer, and every two hours, get up, do some stretches, maybe some jumping jacks, depending on the environment you work in. You can go to the ladies room, do some leg lifts. But it’s important to get your body moving, because you know what? We were not designed to sit all day. And this is the first– time in our history that we have spent so much time sitting down.
Think about all the time you’re sitting when you are watching TV. Every commercial, if you’d get up and did jumping jacks or something just active, go up and down your stairs ten times, you are going to find that your overall calorie burn is going to be that much greater. You’re getting your heart moving again.
Even if you have done your workout, it’s just an additional way to burn calories, and that’s going to help you lose the weight you want faster and get you in better shape.
So think about ways you can incorporate activity into everyday life. When I go to do the laundry, I find a way to have to go up and down the stairs or I find a way to be standing and folding instead of sitting and folding.
Just think about ways you can be more active in your life, and you’re going to see even greater results.
Have a great day!
