Italian Black Bean Burgers
I found this Italian Black Bean Burger recipe while surfing the recipes on Team Beachbody. I love burgers made from beans and have mainly just done ones using chickpeas. This one has black beans and I am sure the oregano and basil will make the flavor pop! At 111 calories a burger, this is surely a flat abs recipe!
Italian Black Bean Burgers
- 1 lb. canned black beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 cups cooked brown rice
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 3 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mash until beans are completely pulped and everything is well mixed. Form into 8 burgers, each about half an inch thick. Place burgers on lightly oiled nonstick skillet, flipping several times. Cook for 10 minutes or until browned.
