P90X Saved Dallas’ Life, Allowed Him to See his Children Grow Up

P90X saved Dallas’ life and allowed him to see his children grow up. The journey was not easy one for Dallas Carter of Hawaii. He was 355 pounds and not very mobile. But that wasn’t the tipping point for him. It was the birth of his daughter. With being such a large man, the most joyous event of his life was tarnished by the girth of his body. He wanted to hold his baby girl tightly, but she felt so far away.

Dallas owned P90X. I’m sure it was daunting to even think about. When he started he could barely even do the warm-up of the first workout! He often toggled between Power 90‘s Sweat (cardio) and P90X‘s Cardio X workouts. He kept at it day by day. Each week he shed more pounds. He had the support of his family the whole way through.

He gave up fast foods, beer and high-calorie snacks. He replaced them with lean meats, veggies and whole grains. He also drank lots of water!

Dallas said, “If I ever felt like giving up, my little baby girl would smile at me or give a little laugh. It was like a boost of adrenaline straight to my heart. I kept at it and never forgot the words of my Native Hawaiian ancestors to ‘Kulia i ka nu’u,’ which means to never settle for anything less than excellence.”

Dallas lost 20, then 50, then 70 pounds! He was able to do more and more workouts. Eventually, he was able to do a full cycle of P90X. He gained more and more momentum as he gained muscle, got stronger and lost weight!

Dallas eventually lost 170 pounds with P90X. He entered his story and results into the Beachbody Challenge Game, at the monthly [Team Beachbody] competition. He was voted the winner that year and took home a check of $250,000! While that seems so impressive and no doubt made a huge difference in his family’s life, Dallas will tell you that the biggest reward was getting to hold his baby daughter close to his heart. Dallas states, “I still reflect every single day on the moment of my daughter’s birth. I recall the horrible feeling I had being unhealthy and not being able to hold her close. But now, each time I reflect on that memory, I pick up both my daughter and my son and I hold them close . . . because now I can!”
